M.Sc. in Geo-information Science and Earth Observation:-
The Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Geo-information Science and Earth Observation (specialization/domain: Geoinformatics) is offered within the framework of the Joint Education Programme (JEP) of the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) and the Faculty of Geo-information Science and Earth Observation (ITC) of the University of Twente (UT), The Netherlands.
The course is of 2 years duration having eight quartiles. Students follow part of the course at IIRS and a part at the Faculty ITC, The Netherlands.
The first year will be taught at IIRS. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a Master’s degree from UT-ITC. The UT-ITC degree has the name ‘Master of Science degree in Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation’.
The diploma will be accompanied by a Diploma Supplement (DS) that describes the nature, level, context, content, specialization, and status of the Master’s degree and the grades obtained for the courses and thesis Other details are as follows:

Inform./Forest Inform./ Agriculture/Forestry or equivalent (OR) B.Arch./B.Plan./M.Arch./M.Plan. (OR) Master’s in Geography (OR) Govt. officials having B.Sc. degree.
Admission Process:-
The admission is based on a written test (for self-financed candidates), interview (for self-financed as well as Government-sponsored candidates), academic performance and experience.

The M.Tech. course in Remote Sensing & GIS
The aim of the M.Tech. (RS&GIS) the course is to provide an in-depth understanding of remote sensing, satellite image analysis, Geographic Information System (GIS), and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technologies and their applications in natural resources survey and monitoring including agriculture and soils, forestry, and ecology, geology and mineral resources, water resources, marine resources, urban and regional planning, atmospheric studies and disaster management.
It is a four-semester course in which the first two semesters are devoted to exhaustive course work and the other two semesters as a research project with a mandate to work as a member of a research group in a project in close association with the subject matter experts. Other details are as follows:
Educational Background at Intermediate Level:-Science stream (with Maths as essential subject and any one subject out of Physics/ Chemistry/ Statistics/ Biology/ Comp. Science)
Candidate holding Master’s degree in any of the subjects/disciplines mentioned above as the required qualification for any course/specialization should have Bachelor’s degree in Science [B.Sc./B.S.] with the subjects from the following areas: Earth, Atmosphere, Ocean & Planetary Sciences/ Physical Sciences/ Life Sciences/ Mathematical Sciences/ Chemical Sciences/ Engineering Sciences/ Geography/ Env. Science/Computer Science (OR) Bachelor’s degree in Engineering [B.E./B.Tech./ B.Sc.(Engg.)]

Self-financed (Indian) candidates: Rs. 1,64,000 [Rs. 1,44,000 towards IIRS fee + University Registration fee (currently, Rs. 20,000)];
On 29 March 2019, i have seen a Walk-In-Interview for the position of JRF in DRDO, in which the educational qualification is Mtech. in the Ist Division (Degree & Mtech) in the fields of Geomatics/Remote Sensing/GIS. Desirable: i) Experience of High-Resolution Satellite Data Processing,Web GIS.
